Hogle Zoo Day

We met up with Caitlin's old roommates and visited the Hogle Zoo!  Neither of us had ever been there before and the new African Safari section had just opened.

The giraffes are our favorite.  They just hang out and lick the wood posts all day.  (Fun fact: the average giraffe tongue is 21 inches long!)

It was a really hot day, and the animals didn't look like they were enjoying it much.

Little Cal is the cutest kid!  Sometimes he misses what is right next to him.

Just kidding, he found it!

That's an otter.

The poor polar bear looked like the heat was getting to him.  We watched him for 15 minutes while he just kept walking in the same circle and touching his nose to the same pole over and over...and over again.

I guess it was nap time because all the cool cats were sleeping.

The exotic llama!
(Insert your favorite Emperor's New Groove quote here.  Example: "Yay!!  I'm a llama again!  Wait...")

Look at that posture!  Gorillas are kind of terrifying.

Baby hand... I mean Caitlin's hand.

Here is the group!  It was fun to see you all!
